How it works
Set up once. Then just invoice.
A short setup teaches cbFinn about your business. After that, every invoice follows it: the same numbering, the same details, the same correct tax, every time.
Part 1 · Setting up
Tell cbFinn about your business
Most of this takes a few minutes, and all of it can be changed later from Settings.
-
01
Your account
We create your account. You sign in and choose your own password straight away.
-
02
Your company
Legal and trade name, address, state, GSTIN, PAN and your logo, printed on every invoice.
-
03
Your numbering
A prefix, the financial year and a sequence, like DS-2026-27-0042, starting again each April.
-
04
Bank & GST
The bank account printed on your invoices, and the GST rates you charge.
-
05
Terms & signature
Default terms and notes, payment terms, and a signature image or a “digitally issued” note.
-
06
Email & Pay Now
We connect your business mailbox and, if you want a Pay Now button, your Razorpay account.
Then bring your team, and your CA
Owners run everything. Accountants do the day-to-day work. Viewers, like your CA, see everything and change nothing.
Part 2 · Every invoice
Five steps, draft to paid
You decide what to bill and who to. cbFinn does the arithmetic, the document, the email and the bookkeeping.
1 · Create
Pick the customer and add saved items.
Their place of supply, payment terms and currency come from their record. Each saved item brings its HSN/SAC code, unit, rate and GST rate. The A4 preview redraws as you go, from the same calculation the saved invoice will use.
- Taxable
- ₹1,95,000
- IGST @ 18%
- ₹35,100
- Total
- ₹2,30,100
2 · Issue
Make it official.
The next number in your sequence is taken inside the same save, so a failed save never leaves a gap. Your details and your customer’s are copied onto the invoice. From here it can’t be deleted, only cancelled with a reason.
- Number
- DS-2026-27-0042
- Status
- Issued
- Pages
- 1 × A4
3 · Send
Email it, with a way to pay.
The recipient, subject and message are written for you. The PDF is generated fresh and attached, and the email carries a Pay Now link to Razorpay for the balance due. The invoice moves to Sent.
- To
- kavya.rao@northwind.example
- Attached
- DS-2026-27-0042.pdf
- Button
- Pay Now
4 · Get paid
Record what arrives.
A bank transfer with its UTR, a UPI payment, a cheque: record each one, in full or in part. The balance and the status follow, and the invoice shows what was received. Past its due date, it’s marked Overdue on its own.
- Received
- ₹1,00,000 + ₹1,30,100
- Balance
- ₹0
- Status
- Paid
5 · Report
See where the business stands.
Dashboard and Reports put invoiced, received, outstanding and overdue side by side, with expenses, a cash-basis net and the GST summary by rate.
- Received
- ₹4,12,900
- Expenses
- ₹1,35,300
- Net
- ₹2,77,600
Part 3 · Every month
Month-end, handed to your CA
Log the month’s expenses with their receipts as they happen. At month-end, pick the month in Reports and send it.
- An Excel workbook, not a CSV: Summary, Income and Expenses sheets.
- Rupees in the Indian grouping, a frozen header row, your name at the top.
- Download it, or email it straight to your CA’s address from Settings.
- The GST summary by rate is in Reports whenever you need it.
